Pune, May 28 ( UNI) Much awaited "Veer Savarkar - Secret Files, produced by Deccan AV Media in Hindi Web-Series will be an answer to all the critics of Veer Savarkar," said Mr. Satyaki Savarkar, grandson of freedom fighter Savarkar.

Today, during a press conference in Pune, Deccan AV Media announced 'Veer Savarkar - Secret Files..', a first ever Hindi web-series. On the occasion, two teasers and posters of this web-series were released by Deccan AV Media.

A grand Hindi web series 'Veer Savarkar - Secret Files.', which tells the story of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar's bravery, sacrifice and boundless courage, will soon release on OTT.

The writer and director of the web series Mr. Yogesh Soman, the actor playing the lead role of Savarkar Mr. Saurabh Gokhale, the producer of the webseries and CEO of Deccan Group Dr. Anirban Sarkar, Director of Deccan AV Media Mr. Ajay Kamble and Ms. Saachi Gadhve among other dignitaries were present.

Mr. Satyaki Savarkar said, "Freedom fighter Veer Savarkar has been neglected for the past few years. The inspiration he gave to many revolutionaries, Savarkar's stance on a subject, his sacrifices.

Elaborating further Satyaki said," It is our responsibility to bring all these to the public since this web-series truly is a step towards it. Savarkar has been continuously criticized for the past few days. This web series will be an answer to all the critics of Veer Savarkar. But I would say rather than making something as an answer to the criticism, unsung freedom fighters should be brought before audience."

Mr. Yogesh Soman said, "A web series is a powerful medium to bring a topic to a general audience. The entire biography of Savarkar can be presented through this medium. People of Maharashtra know Savarkar. But this web series is going to be made in Hindi language in order to bring Savarkar's biography, his thoughts and his sacrifice at the national level. 'Veer Savarkar - Secret Files', the name means that we will try to present true events of Savarkar's life to the audience with appropriate directorial freedom," said Mr. Yogesh Soman. He also clarified that this web series is not related to any political party.

Mr. Saurabh Gokhale said, "An artist is lucky to play a historical character. Earlier I got to play the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Now I have got the opportunity to play the character of Veer Savarkar. Studying this character, reading literature about him will help me to play this role in a better way. And I'm going to give my 100 percent to this."

Dr. Anirban Sarkar said, "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is my idol. I am particularly interested in historical figures. Earlier I made a film on Shivaji Maharaj's shilledar Kondaji Farjand. Now the shooting of the web series on the life of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar will start soon and it will be released next year on February 26, Veer Savarkar's death anniversary."

On the occasion, Dr. V. K. Saraswat, honorable member, NITI Aayog, sent warm wishes to the whole team through a special video message.
